What is deuterium-depleted water?
Deuterium-depleted water (DDW) is ordinary drinking water containing less deuterium — a naturally occurring heavy isotope of hydrogen — than it normally would. It is present in all water on Earth, in a proportion that varies slightly with geography and climate, and it looks and tastes like ordinary water. Natural water sits at roughly 150 parts per million (ppm) of deuterium. Cancro is produced at 125 ppm, about 17% below that natural level. Nothing is added to achieve it: only the heavier isotope is removed, through vacuum distillation and fractional separation. Deuterium cannot be taken out by ordinary filtration, because water molecules containing it are chemically identical to ordinary water and differ only in mass. DDW has been studied since the 1990s; a 2024 scoping review in Metabolomics identified 15 studies and concluded that more randomised controlled trials are needed before cause and effect can be established. Cancro is a beverage, not a medicine.

The Research
Three decades of
published science
Since the 1990s, researchers in Hungary, Russia, Japan, and the United States have studied how deuterium levels relate to cellular energy metabolism. Most of this work to date is laboratory or animal research.
Human evidence remains limited. A 2024 scoping review identified 15 studies across the field and concluded that more randomised controlled trials are needed to establish cause and effect.
